WASHINGTON QB GETS HURT, SO THEY MIGHT MOVE HIM TO SAFETY

Washington quarterback Jake Locker broke the thumb on his throwing hand Saturday, which could be a season-ending injury for a quarterback. But Locker isn’t just a quarterback. He’s a great all-around athlete who might just be able to contribute at another position. The Huskies’ coaches are seriously considering playing him for the rest of the season at safety, where he was an all-state player in high school.”Hey, if he wants to do it, let’s go,” said offensive coordinator Tim Lappano. And coach Ty Willingham added he would “absolutely” consider playing Locker at safety. It’s unorthodox, but I think it’s brilliant. Locker can’t help the Huskies as a passer anymore, but he can still help the Huskies. He’s too talented a football player to stand on the sidelines.
