JUNIOR RB JUST SAYS NO... TO MOM

Earlier this week, a report surfaced which said the mother of Pittsburgh running back LeSean McCoy was pressuring her son to leave school early. McCoy listened.Another running back, C.J. Spiller of Clemson, also had his mother in his ear, again urging him to drop the books and grab the cash. In this case, the son defied the mother.According to an Associated Press report which appeared on WSLS-TV‘s website, Spiller shocked most of those close to him and returned to Clemson for another season. While the decision has been made, it was not easy for the talented back to get there."Really hadn’t slept, really hadn’t eaten, lost a lot of weight the last couple of days,” Spiller said. “At the end of the day, I’m going to be the one to lay on the bed and think about the decision I made."As for going against his mother’s wishes, it’s not the first time Spiller has gone in the opposite direction. First, he chose Clemson when most of his family and those close to him were a committment to Florida. Then, following his freshman year, his mother urged him to transfer to Georgia. Again, Spiller held firm and went against his mother’s advice. There’s a simple reason for thrice defying his mother, Spiler said."That’s why I’m not a teenager anymore. I’m a man. I’ve got to make man decisions."The 5-11, 195-pound Spiller received a first-round grade from the NFL’s advisory committee after gaining nearly 1,800 all-purpose yards in 2008.
