WOLVERINE QB LEAVING MICHIGAN

In a move that seemingly came out of left field, Michigan quarterback Steven Threet has decided to transfer from the university.Threet, who started eight games for the Wolverines last season, made the announcement last night.”I’ve decided to transfer from the University of Michigan,” Threet said according to the Detroit News. “I have requested and received my release. I do not yet know where I will continue my collegiate career and will have no further comment until that decision is made."This is the second time in the last two years Threet has transferred; in 2007, the redshirt freshman transferred from Georgia Tech to Michigan.Nate Sheridan, with four starts, could be considered Michigan’s presumptive #1 QB on the depth chart. However, freshman Tate Forcier is better suited for Rich Rodriguez’s spread offense, and there’s a very good chance that he, not Sheridan, will end up under center at the start of the regular season.
