A pair of University of Texas at El Paso football players — running back Daniel Palmer and safety Nick Sampson — were arrested earlier this week in connection with a robbery, the El Paso Times is reporting.Palmer was arrested Monday night, while Sampson was arrested and released a day later.  Palmer was released from jail yesterday.According to the paper, details of what led to the arrests are available at this time.”"I was surprised that these two young men would be involved in any type of activity like this,” UTEP head coach Mike Price told The Times. “They haven’t done anything wrong before and have been good student-athletes in our program. But we will take swift and decisive action when the matter has been resolved.”Part of that swift action was suspending both indefinitely from the football program. The sophomore-to-be Sampson was/is expected to challenge for a starting job this summer.  Palmer rushed for 145 yards last season and was being thought of as an even bigger contributor to the Miners’ running game this season.
