According to Rivals.com, the injury is season-ending; ESPN.com is reporting that the initial diagnosis is a torn ACL and would put the senior out for the 2009 season if confirmed; the Knoxville News Sentinel reports only that head athletic trainer Jason McVeigh confirmed a knee injury.
Rogers apparently suffered the injury during "voluntary" workouts last Friday.
Although he only had 14 receptions in 2008, he was still the Vols' second-leading returning receiver, behind fellow starter Gerald Jones' 30.
As noted by ESPN.com, Rogers has already used up his redshirt season, so he would have to petition the NCAA for a sixth year of eligibility if he were to entertain any thoughts of playing in 2010.
