Vols Continue To Take Hits At Receiver

The news has gone from bad to worser (yes, I'm aware that ain't a word) for Tennessee at the wide receiver position.

On Tuesday, it was confirmed that starting receiver Austin Rogers would miss the season courtesy of a torn ACL, and that Denarius Moore had broken his foot.

Today, Moore underwent successful surgery on his left foot and will miss the next 8-10 weeks.  That's a sliver of good news for Volunteer fans as the initial prognosis was he could miss up to 12 weeks.

Still, a ten-week time frame would have Moore out until just before the fourth game of the season versus Ohio University.

While Moore only had 11 catches in 2008, he averaged over 24 yards a catch, with a long of 63.  At least in the early part of the season, it'll be up to Tennessee's young and speedy receivers to give the Vols the deep threat Moore brought to the table.

Just goes to show that some players will do anything to keep from playing for Kiffin (sucks).
