Via email, both schools denied that anything regarding the venue was officially set.
Yesterday, the Times Herald-Record reported that, citing multiple Army sources, the two schools have reached a deal for a game in 2010.
This morning, however, the Chicago Tribune is reporting that the game is not a done deal. Yet.
As noted by The Tribune, and as we pointed out nine days ago, any official denials are likely a matter of semantics. Barring an unexpected hitch in the negotiations -- like someone forgetting how to dot an "i" or cross a "t" -- the game will go off as expected.
According to the latter paper, "the schools have agreed on most of the major points but there are still a handful of important issues to navigate."
That being said, look for an agreement to be reached sooner rather than later.
