Investigation Into Texas LB's Building Run-In At A Standstill

A decision on charges being filed against Texas linebacker Sergio Kindle has been put on hold, the Austin American-Statesman is reporting.

Kindle allegedly turned a campus apartment complex into his own personal parking garage very early in the morning June 24.  According to the LB's attorney, Kindle was texting at the time of the 1:50 a.m. accident.

Investigators are still waiting to hear from the owners of the apartment building as to whether or not they want to pursue charges against Kindle.  The incident caused an estimated $8,700 worth of damage.

Even though Kindle left the scene, he will not be charged for that as the damage involved property and not a person.

"He has 10 days to report the accident if there is only property damage," Austin Police spokesman Scott Perry told the paper. "This is not any different than any other case."

Kindle reportedly contacted the owners the morning after the accident.
