The SEC media has some explaining to do, too

Over the past few days, we've been obsessed mildly interested in the identity of the head coach who left Tim Tebow off his first-team All-SEC ballot.

As it turns out, some of the very ones who were scrutinizing this snub might need to have the spotlight of scrutiny shifted to them.

Thanks to the not-so-gentle prodding of a reader -- see, we do read the comments -- we took a look at the list of all-conference players as voted on by various members of the SEC media.

(The complete list is HERE.)

In all, 64 people were involved in the voting process.

Tebow received 61 first-team votes.  Perhaps even more stunningly, Tennessee All-World safety Eric Berry only received 62 votes, two shy of being a unanimous selection.

So, what say ye, o' snubbers of arguably the two best players in college football today?  Make yourselves known.  Admit these sins and throw yourself on the mercy of St. Timothy's court.

Oh, and somehow, someway, Paul Finebaum has to be involved in this egregiousness.  Has to.

Cool, Thanks, John. I noticed it reading the Tennessee article in your one-liners. Hypocrites.

Not a problem. Thanks for being gentle in pointing it out. :-)

All the coaches seemed like little children during the media "day" events. Johnson of Vandy impressed me most.
