6-8 weeks is the injury verdict for Buffs freshman

Keeping with head coach Dan Hawkins’ theme from yesterday, the injury suffered by top recruit Nick Kasa should not keep him out for the season, the Denver Post is reporting.

It will, however, knock the defensive lineman out for a period of 6 to 8 weeks.

There is a chance, though, that Kasa could still need surgery to repair what was diagnosed as a torn MCL in his left knee. Even if he undergoes a medical procedure, Hawkins said that still wouldn’t necessarily prevent the freshman from seeing the field this season.

In other words, Hawkins really, really, really wants to get on the field.

And there’s your scouting report on the current state of Colorado’s defensive line.
