While the focus of the post just below this one was on Matt Barkley, it’s a now-unavailable wide receiver who could’ve helped the true freshman immensely in his transition that is the biggest news coming out of SoCal today.
During today’s mock game, Southern Cal junior Ronald Johnson suffered a broken clavicle and will be lost for 6-8 weeks.
“The hit of the weekend,” head coach Pete Carroll said of Johnson’s injury according to the Orange County Register. “Just a crusher.”
Before he suffered the injury, Johnson had two receptions for 54 yards in the faux game.
Last season, Johnson had 33 receptions for 570 yards and eight touchdowns.
