LeGarrette Blount: the new collegiate poster boy for douche

Your team got punked.  By a non-BcS team

Your team got rolled.  By a non-BcS team.

Hey, Ducks, waddya gonna do?

If you are Oregon’s LeGarrette Blount, you sucker punch a player on the team that just kicked your ass, then go after fans in the stands.

And embarrass yourself and your program the whole way through.

That was a sad, sorry display, and no amount of spin from the Nike machine can turn it into anything else.

What will be interesting is what, if anything, former head coach and new athletic director Mike Bellotti has to say about this situation.

Blount needs to be suspended and for a long time. It’s one thing to punch that Boise St. player but to continue to act like an idiot, just shows he just doesn’t get it.

That guy needs to be arrested. He should be kicked off the team and they should leave Boise without him because he’s in the clink. What a piece of sh…….

That seemed more “dickish” than “douchey” to me, but that’s just one man’s opinion.
There’s no excuse for what the guy did. Total dick move on his part. But how about the Boise State folks show some class? It’s pretty clear the Boise State player said something to set him off. And I’m sure the Boise fans weren’t showering him with praise. Why can’t winning be enough anymore? Why do you have to rub it in?

Whose really the douche bag here? I would’ve punched that guy too.

joe: Um, no you wouldn’t. Once you are an adult you have to give up the whole “I’ll punch you in the mouth” response.
Kid is on a scholarship to a major D-I school. He just committed aggravated assault on national television.
Being kicked off the team is the least of his worries.

As an Oregon fan I’m really embarrassed by LeGarrette Blount. He’s never shown himself to be this type of guy, save for the occasional ass-whipping comment. Even if it leaves us shorthanded at running back, he should get a lengthy suspension and has to do quite a bit to prove that he deserves to wear the Duck uniform(s!) again.
That said, the BSU player didn’t deserve to get punched, but he sure acted like a jackass rather than just winning with any kind of class.

    #1. Bring back Bellotti!
#2. Dump the chump (Blount)Suspend him/pull his scholarship/send him home.
What an embarassment for our State.
If one of my players did that, they would be walking home to Eugene.

Suspend the kid for a couple games but that watching that Boise player get Punked after tapping Blount on the shoulder was Priceless…….I must have watched it 50 times on my Tivo. The moment the punch connected his eyes rolled back into his head…..never going to live that one down buddy….I loved it. Boise fans will talk about how low it was but the other player was more than willing to lower himself talking trash after they already won the game. He deserved it and he got it…this is a man’s game…it is barbaric..and that is why we love it so.

I am far from an Oregon fan, but let’s be honest that was NOT a sucker punch. The guy asked for, he taunted and pushed Blount. The only reason the guy wasn’t looking when he got punched is because his own coach had snatched him away for his poor behavior right as Blount was swinging. I am not justifying the action and his behavior after the punch can not be excused, but don’t call it a sucker punch.

The guy’s head was completely turned to one side, he wasn’t looking, there is no way to describe the punch other than a sucker punch.
Blount should have been arrested by the police before he even got to the locker room. The U of O should kick him off the team and revoke his scholarship. Seems like justice for being the world’s biggest douche bag.

Hey stoopid….it was a sucker punch.

  12. Montana_Tom says: Sep 4, 2009 4:45 PM

Cops need to arrest anyone who punches someone now?? Have we become a nation of cowards now? OH….he punched him..cry cry. Dude got dropped for running his mouth….what is more American than that? If this appalled you then maybe Soccer is more your thing. Suspend the kid for a couple games and be done with it.

    Couldn’t agree more Montana.

Hail2Redskins is RIGHT. NOT a sucker punch… What? Are we getting soft now? You taunt, you stand ready to face a response. Period. Seems obvious the kid from Idaho was distracted, but in the heat of the moment, neither party is thinking sucker punch… rather it’s more along the lines of “C’mon!!! You want some of this?!?!?!” If I’m hit like that… I say to myself “I should have seen that coming” given the circumstances. Now… if the kid from Idaho was walking away after having settled the matter and then Blount hits him… That’s a sucker punch. In this case both parties effectively facing each other… This was simply a matter of poor timing.
Blount’s STILL and idiot… but so too is the kid from Idaho. This is why sports devolves into the garbage it can be… Lack of sportsmanship.

Why do people feel sorry for these thugs and punks ? They are getting a free college ride and they still act like the ghetto pieces of shit that they are. Plenty of kids out there who actually put in time with school work bust their ass to get into a college, yet this thug was given a free ride and we are supposed to feel sorry for him? He sucker punched a guy cause the dude tapped him on the shoulder then he tries to fight with fans and his own teammates. Send his ass back to where he belongs, which in his case would be the ghetto. Let him join his brethren collecting wellfare checks and drinking a 40.

My problem with the punch is that he immediately backed up when he threw it. He knew that dude would have whipped his butt. That’s why he threw the punch, then immediately started backing up. Stick and move, or hit and run?
