Florida frosh out 4-6 months following surgery

Expected to become the next Percy Harvin -- or at least attempt to play the Percy position immediately -- Florida freshman Andre Debose will instead spend the next few months recovering and rehabbing after undergoing surgery on his hamstring, the Orlando Sentinel is reporting.

Debose underwent successful surgery on his torn hamstring earlier this week, and will be out of action for 4-6 months. Even the far end of the timeline would allow Debose to return in time for most, if not all, of spring practice next year.

It’s believed the wide receiver suffered the injury during Florida’s state high school track meet, although it was at first believed to be simply a strain.

Additional testing toward the end of summer camp, however, revealed a much more serious injury, and led to Debose being shutdown for the season.
