According to head coach Pete Carroll, All-American safety Taylor Mays is a go for Southern Cal’s game Saturday against Washington State.
According to Mays? Eh, not so much.
Mays missed last weekend’s upset loss to Washington with a sprained right knee. After some doubt early on in the week, Carroll is confident Mays is ready to roll.
“He’s ready to play,” Carroll said. “Ready to play football.”
Mays, on the other hand, is not nearly as confident as his coach.
“I think I’m going to play,” he said. “It’s kind of 50/50.”
So there you have it, narrowed down rather nicely in one neat package. Mays will either play. Or he won’t. You’re welcome.
