Herbstreit criticism Spiked Gators’ defense

If the LSU faithful want to thank anyone for Florida’s throttling defensive performance Saturday night, they can send their cards, letters and bags of feces to ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit.

Herbstreit called out the Florida defense in general and linebacker Brandon Spikes specifically, stating that Spikes needed to step his game up on the gig stage.

Needless to say, Spikes didn’t take kindly to the public tongue lashing and, 11 tackles, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble later, the Gator LB was giving an on-field, one-finger salute in the general direction of Mr. Herbstreit with his dominating performance.

“Herbstreit called him out,” defensive end Carlos Dunlap said according to the Orlando Sentinel. “He knew he had to step up and meet their expectations because he got called out on national television. He wanted to make up for it.”
