Auburn OL leaves second program in three months

This has not been the best of years for offensive lineman Aubrey Phillips.

After being one of the most highly-touted members of the Florida State’s 2009 recruiting class, Phillips left the program in mid-July amidst reports that he was overweight and not able to keep up during workouts.

Phillips then transferred to Auburn, but he hasn’t practiced since the second day of summer camp due what’s been described as non-football medical issues.

Now, Phillips has left Auburn completely. According to the Opelika-Auburn News, Phillips has withdrawn from classes and is no longer with the team.

“Aubrey is dealing with some medical issues, as we all know,” Chizik said. “So he’s kind of working through those personal, medical-type issues that we know he’s got.”
