Unless you’ve been living under a rock that doesn’t have WiFi for the last couple of weeks, you’ve certainly heard the rumors of Jon Gruden being high on the list of potential replacements for Steve Kragthorpe if/when he gets the boot from Louisville.
They seemed to start off as merely hopeful chatter on Cardinals message boards, but went “national” when Mike Lombardi of the NFL Network reported Wednesday that the current ESPN Monday Night Football analyst is Louisville’s No. 1 target should Kragthorpe be canned.
AOL FanHouse caught up with Gruden at the South Florida-Louisville Cincinnati game last night and got the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach to comment on the situation. While he refused to confirm any type of interest in the job if it became available, he added a whole helluva lot of fuel to the fire by what he didn’t say.
“I’m just here to support the Bulls,” Gruden told the website when asked about the rumors/reports.
That was it. No denials, no nothing.
Just Gruden taking a f—ing gas can and pouring petrol all over the place. This may end up getting interesting after all.
“South Florida-Louisville ”
I think you mean South Florida-Cincinnati.
Jon Gruden will be the next University of Louisville head football coach!!! You heard it here first.
