QB, RB transferring from BC

In a mildly surprising turn of events, quarterback Justin Tuggle and running back Josh Haden have decided to transfer from Boston College, the Boston Herald is reporting.

As noted by the Herald, the transfer of Haden in particular is surprising.  The sophomore had carried the ball 58 times this season despite being supplanted on the depth chart by Montel Harris.

One possible landing spot for Haden could be Florida; his brother Joe is an All-American candidate at cornerback for the Gators.

“Both young men have expressed a desire to pursue their educational and football careers elsewhere,” said head coach Frank Spaziani in a statement. “Each has contributed to our football program and we wish them well.”

Tuggle started the first three games of the 2009 season due to a rib injury to current starter Dave Shinskie.  The son of Atlanta falcon legend Jessie Tuggle hasn’t seen the field since.
