However, the latest round of rumors surrounding Bowden is something that elicited a chuckle from the legendary coach.
According to message board chatter, Bowden will be headed to UAB to coach the Blazers after his FSU career comes to an end. Seriously, that's the rumor.
Bowden addressed the talk, then quickly dismissed it.
"I have heard that," Bowden said of the UAB rumor, laughing. "I have heard that. And [Bowden's son and former Clemson coach] Tommy's going with me. Have you heard that? Yeah, I've heard that.
"I've even had people from Birmingham call. I don't know where it started -- there or here or what."
