Specifically, you'll have to wait five more games until the Notre Dame junior quarterback even begins to seriously consider making himself available for the 2010 NFL draft.
According to head coach Charlie Weis, the two have already discussed not discussing Clausen's next step until the Irish finish the regular season. Then, and only then, will they begin the process of determining where the talented QB stands and weighing the pluses/minuses of staying in/leaving South Bend.
(That sound you here? It's the ghost of Sam Bradford's 2009 season loudly whispering "jump, Jimmy, jump.")
"We're not even going to address the subject until the first week in December," Weis said according to the Chicago Tribune. "We've already addressed the fact that we're not going to address it. So we're just worrying about the next five games, starting with Washington State. First of all, let's see how we play. But we'll revisit it then."
Clausen is currently the second-rated QB in the nation, and Heisman talk based on his outstanding play this season is beginning to gain some momentum.
Given the injury to Bradford, and depending on Jake Locker's decision to stay or go, Clausen would be very near the top -- if not at the top -- of the '10 QB class. And, with Bradford out there as a very recent and vivid example of what happens when you don't take the money and run, Clausen might give a jump to the professional ranks more consideration than he would've even six months ago.
Jimmy might better stay in college and learn a trade. He will end up like Quinn maybe worse.
yeah, Charley still has the NC game to play

Amen to that. He's not ready yet. When was the last time a qb from nd was ready for the NFL?
He has the foundation, just needs to build on it.
