Upset Alert: 'Canes stumble into halftime

Coming off last weekend’s stunning overtime loss to Clemson, No. 19 Miami of Florida was looking to recapture a little bit of their early-season magic against 4-4 Wake Forest.

Unless the Hurricanes find another trick or two up their sleeves in the halftime locker room that will help them finish a game better than the abysmal way it started, though, they could find themselves exiting the weekend with a two-game losing streak.

Wake Forest jumped out to a 17-0 lead with over 10 minutes left in the second quarter, and the Demon Deacons ultimately went up 20-7 late in the half.

However, the ‘Canes scored on a three-yard Damien Berry run to slice the lead to 20-14 heading into halftime.

Quarterback Riley Skinner has torched the Hurricanes’ secondary for 199 first-half yards, and the Demon Deacons have 295 yards of offense in the first two quarters alone.

Jacory Harris has been exactly one yard better than Skinner thus far, throwing for 200 yards in the half.

Both QBs have thrown a touchdown pass.
