Idle Tide gets jumped in BcS, too

As it turns out, the polls weren’t the only place where Alabama took a hit for being idle.

In the latest BcS rankings, the Tide dropped to No. 3, replaced by now-No. 2 Texas.  Florida, of course, remains a solid No. 1.

All these latest rankings do is further solidify the fact that, as long as the Gators/Tide and Longhorns continue to win, the national championship game is all but etched in stone.

Iowa remained well behind the third spot but is still a solid No. 4.  Courtesy of Southern Cal’s loss to Oregon, Cincinnati jumped from No. 8 to the Trojans’ old No. 5 spot, while TCU and Boise State remained at No. 6 and No. 7, respectively.

The Ducks moved two spots to No. 8, while the Trojans tumbled seven spots to No. 12.

Idle LSU remained at No. 9, while Georgia Tech climbed a spot into the bottom of the Top Ten.

Consider yourself warned…

If AL beats LSU this week I bet they jump Texas in the BCS next week. Va Tech losing THU hurt Bama as well as Ole Miss losing.

    LSU wasn’t idle! They beat Tulane 42 – 0!

Isn’t that the same thing as being idle? ;-)

Yea, LSU beats a lesser team and it doesn’t get noticed. If USC had beat Tulane 42 – 0 the sports writers and commentators would all be exclaiming what a “Powerhouse” USC is and the genius coaching, etc., etc. . . .
