Clemson’s win over Coastal Carolina (chuckle) was tempered somewhat by the fact that they could be without rising sophomore defensive end Da’Quan Bowers for the next couple of weeks.
An MRI confirmed the initial diagnosis of a sprained PCL for Bowers, but also revealed the lineman suffered a sprained MCL in the win.
Now, the prognosis is that he is doubtful for this weekend’s game against Florida State, and could miss the North Carolina State game the following weekend as well.
“If he’s not able to play, it’s a big blow for us,” head coach Dabo Swinney said. “There are not many Da’Quan Bowers walking around. It’ll be a challenge for us to step up.”
Bowers is currently second on the team in both tackles and tackles for losses.
