Change coming to Longhorns' backfield?

Fozzy Whitaker has started at running back for No. 2 Texas in each of the last three games.

However, if Texas were to play today, there could be change in the Longhorns’ backfield.

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Cody Johnson is listed as the co-starter on the current depth chart.  Head coach Mack Brown was full of praise for Johnson, an indication that a change at running back may be on the offing.

“He’s protecting the ball and he’s a powerful runner,” Brown said. “What we’re all about right now is that 4-yard run to make sure we can stay ahead of the chains, and that’s something that he does very well.”
