Hell, athletic director Mike Bellotti thought an announcement would come Monday.
Three days after a series of meetings between Oregon officials, Blount and Pac-10 commissioner Larry Scott, however, the running back's return doesn't seem to be much closer than it was before Sunday.
According to The Oregonian, head coach Chip Kelly has yet to start the "chain of command" process that would end with Blount being reinstated. Simply put, the school has yet to submit a formal request to the conference regarding reinstatement -- a prerequisite for Blount returning.
Even as the process has yet to move into the realm of "imminent", Blount once again worked with the scout team and, in a sign that he could be getting closer to seeing the field again, did extra conditioning work following practice.
Maybe Blount and Spikes can fight to the death, with the winner being reinstated. Blount should wear protective eyewear.
reinstate him already. he threw a punch, he's paid his dues. the black mark is already on his record. everyone from the incident has moved on.
let the kid play.
our sincere congratulations to new and honest pac 10 commissioner larry scott for bringing some integrity back into college football.
