Groh's fate to be decided after season

Virginia athletic director Craig Littlepage has told the Associated Press that embattled head coach Al Groh's future at the school will be evaluated at the end of the season.

Groh had seemingly taken himself off the hot seat by winning three in a row after starting 2009 with three straight losses.  However, two straight losses have dropped the Cavaliers to 3-5 on the season and cranked up the heat yet again.

According to Littlepage, Groh will be evaluated on his full body of work -- he's 59-49 in eight-plus seasons -- and that the goal of the university is to have fan support at games.

That could prove to be a death knell for Groh's tenure.  This season, average attendance has dropped by 7,000 per game.
