Any flickering memories of that 4-0 start were reduced to mere rumors this afternoon as Michigan fell to Purdue 38-36 in Ann Arbor, further stoking the fire underneath head coach Rich Rodriguez's backside.
Following that unbeaten start, Michigan has lost five of their last six games. The Wolverines remained stuck in the Big Ten basement alongside Indiana, sporting an embarrassing 1-5 mark in league play.
Purdue rattled off 21 straight points in a span of ten minutes to take a 38-30 lead, then held on as a two-point conversion following a Brandon Minor touchdown run with two minutes left failed.
It was Purdue's first win in the Big House since 1966.
Michigan remains win short of bowl eligibility, and face a daunting task to get there given their remaining schedule.
They play next week at No. 21 Wisconsin, then host a team that's owned them over the last several seasons -- No.16 Ohio State -- in the annual season finale.
Discipline Discipline Discipline is woefully lacking especially on the dfence with busted coverages and mental errors, but missing an extra point and all the fumbles too?
C'mon Richy Rod, get a freeking grip on your team. Isn't all this what PRATICES are for?
and apparently all that EXTRA practice time is not helping out.
With the NCAA investigation coupled with the collapse they are having, would it surprise anyone if RichRod is not back next year in Ann Arbor?
The Wolverines have become a national joke. First Lloyd Carr, now RR. Losing at home to Purdue for the first time in 4 decades? What a sad state of affairs. Go Blue? pffft! more like Gone Shopping.
No more alumni donations from me until they fix this mess, fire RR and get a real coach.
89 underclassmen are on this roster.
Lloyd did nothing to recruit secondary in his last years.
I don't think people understand that RichRod in two years already has the most prolific offense statistically that Michigan has ever had. It's the fact that Michigan has no secondary and that they're adjusting to the third defensive coordinator in three years...that's why they're losing games. Judge him after he has four full classes and go call for Pear Bryant's job at ND in the mean time--he's proven to be the bigger failure.
