X-ray 'negative' on Stanzi

Amidst the rubble of a loss that ruined their perfect season, Iowa received both good and bad news on the injury front.

According to head coach Kirk Ferentz, an x-ray performed on the injured ankle of starting quarterback Ricky Stanzi were negative.  That's the good news.

The bad news?  Stanzi suffered a severe sprain of the ankle and could be lost for at least a couple of games.

"Only good thing I can tell you right now, the preliminary x-ray, the x-ray was negative. That's good news, obviously," Ferentz said after the loss to Northwestern. "The bad news is it's a severe sprain. My guess is he'll be out of action here the next couple weeks."
