North Carolina has lost starting running back Shaun Draughn for the remainder of the 2009 season, the school announced this afternoon.
Draughn fractured his left shoulder blade (scapula) on the first play from scrimmage in Carolina’s 19-6 victory over Duke Saturday afternoon.
The junior had started all nine of the Tar Heels’ games this season, and was the school’s leading rushing with 567 yards. He had also caught 21 passes for 125 yards.
Ryan Houston and his 451 yards, seven touchdowns will replace Draughn in the starting lineup for the 6-3 Heels.
