Now, after yet another controversial call, the 'Bama coach has stepped back atop his soapbox to defend the zebras.
Speaking to the media after his team seemed to benefit from a blown call by both the crew on the field and the official in the replay booth, Saban said somebody needs to step up and defend the officiating.
"I mean, can somebody stand up and fight for these guys and what they do for the game?" Coach Woodcock said.
"[If it were me] I'd step back and say,' I think I'll go to the lake this weekend. You can have this.'"
As for the call itself, Saban said it "doesn't bother me at all. Does it bother you?"
We think that question was a rhetorical one. If not, I'm certain the readers will make it clear whether or not they were bothered by what could've been a game-changing interception thrown by the No. 3 team in the country late in the contest.
Yeah it doesn't bother him when he gets the win - but if it had been the other way around, you would see the angry monster Saban can turn into.. This guy is a hypocrite. He cares when he doesn't like the call but in this case, he'll pretend to be so great to step up and defend the zebras.

SEC officials: Giving CFT page hits since 2009.
Now, John, you didn't seem too bothered Saturday night when you were singing Bama's praises :-)
I thought it was one of those too-close-to-overturn-the-call-on-the-field moments--whatever the call on the field had been. If the original call had been interception, it would have been too close to overturn. But I was hoping it would be ruled an interception so we could avoid all the conspiracy theories. Bama dominated the second half and I had no reason to believe we wouldn't win either way.
On a separate note, please excuse me for going all girl on you, but forget the Coach Woodstock stuff. Nick is hot! Sorry, just felt the need to get that out.
Why Ms. Deb, are you accusing me of some kind of nefarious monkey business in order to drum up discussion? Why, I've never been so insulted at such insinuations.
(Too over the top?)
@John ... Nah, I love it :-) The fun part is the predictability of the responses. It's like they've all been through some kind of mass Pavlovian brainwashing. Hope they don't disappoint this time :-)
i can't believe he had the audacity to even comment about the officials, that brings the lol's.
i'm just waiting on the bama/fl game to see which team gets the final blow (figuratively...maybe).
i wonder when the winner was determined-- preseason, end of last year?
bark, bark.
SEC officials thanked Saban for his support by endorsing over Urban Meyer's $30,000 check.
What a kiss-ass.
Well, he convinced me.
The SEC is clean. College football is not corrupt.
What a relief to finally learn this. Thank you, Nick Saban.
