Shortly after word leaked that Tommy West was out at Memphis comes the news that Western Kentucky has done the same to their sideline boss.
According to ESPN’s Pat Forde, and citing an unnamed source, the Hilltoppers have fired head coach David Elson. Elson was fired Sunday night but will coach the team the remainder of the season, the report states.
Western Kentucky is winless this season, their first year as full-fledged members of Div. 1-A football.
Elson is in his seventh year with the Hilltoppers, compiling a 39-41 mark in six-plus seasons. That record includes a 0-9 mark this season.
