Season-ending injuries slam 'Cuse as well

Suffice to say, Doug Marrone's first year at Syracuse has not exactly been a smooth one.

At least 21 players -- either voluntarily or involuntarily -- have left the program since he took over, including stud wide receiver Mike Williams just last week.  Injuries have hit the Orange as well, with five key players going down with season-ending injuries at varying points this year.

That latter total, unfortunately for Marrone, has now increased by two in the last 24 hours.

The school announced last night that defensive tackle Arthur Jones and offensive tackle Jonathan Meldrum have suffered injuries that will keep them out for the rest of the season.

In odd twist, both players the same injury -- a torn lateral meniscus in their knees.  MRIs performed Monday revealed the damage.

Jones was an first-team All-Big East player last season, while Meldrum has started all nine games at right tackle this season.
