Potts likely to get start for Red Raiders

The week-to-week nature of the quarterback situation seems to be coming into focus a little bit earlier this week for Texas Tech and head coach Mike Leach.

According to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, it’s appearing likely that Taylor Potts will get the start this weekend for the Red Raiders.

The paper reports that Potts got two-thirds of the snaps in practice yesterday, while Steven Sheffield took the rest.  Seth Doege, who started Oct. 31 against Kansas but was pulled in favor of Potts, received no reps according to the paper.

Sheffield suffered a broken foot on Oct. 17, and has been out ever since.  At the time of the injury, it was expected he would miss four to six weeks; Saturday will be exactly four weeks since he was injured.
