Report: Jefferson to sit, Lee to start for LSU

Jordan Jefferson missed practice Monday and Tuesday of this week, but returned Wednesday and raising hopes that he would be available this weekend.

According to a report on ESPN.com, however, that hope was short-lived.

Citing a person familiar with the situation, ESPN.com's Joe Schad is reporting that the LSU quarterback will not start this weekend against Louisiana Tech and will be replaced under center by Jarrett Lee.

Jefferson suffered an ankle injury in the tough loss to Alabama last weekend.  Give the fact that it's "only" Louisiana Tech the Tigers are facing, it likely made for an easier decision for the coaching staff to err on the side of caution.

That being said, Schad reports, Jefferson will suit up and should be available if needed.
