With Michigan facing two more ranked opponents to finish the season, the water is reaching a boil in Ann Arbor.
Even the most ardent of Wolverines supporters is having his faith tested by Rich Rodriguez’s slumping Michigan squad. After starting 4-0, the team has lost five of the next six, and now staring at the very realistic scenario of staying home for the bowl season. Michigan needs to beat either Wisconsin today or (gulp) Ohio State next Saturday to get to .500 and most likely a date at the Little Caesars’ bowl.
Today’s date with destiny didn’t start all that hot with Michigan going three and out before getting gashed by the Badgers’ offense for a quick touchdown. But Michigan just rallied back behind the scrambling of Tate Forcier, and tied the game at 7-7.
While Michigan AD Bill Martin has said that Rodriguez’s job is safe, a bowl game would do a lot to quell the grumbling of the Wolverines fanbase.
Fire RichRod! We need a Michigan man to fix this mess!
