Monroe, who is the only player in school history to return two kicks for touchdowns, was released from jail late this morning after posting a $3,000 bond.
The school is aware of the incident and, according to Texas Football Media Relations John Bianco, they are "dealing with it at this time." According to the paper, head coach Mack Brown has previously doled out three-game suspensions for similar incidents.
In addition to his kick-return duties, the redshirt freshman has rushed for 110 yards this season.
COME ON, THIS GUY DID NOT DO THIS ON HIS OWN, HE WAS LEAD TO DO THIS, MAYBE AS A CELEBRATION. SLAP HIS HAND THREE TIMES AND FORGET IT. HE STILL HAS TO FACE THE CHARGES WHICH I WOULD THINK THAT ONE OF THE HIGH POWERED ATTORNEYS FROM TEXAS WILL GET THE CHARGES DROPPED WITH TIME. HE IS YOUNG ENOUGH THAT IF ONE OF HIS PARENTS TOLD HIM NO, THEY WOULD BE ARRESTED FOR CHILD ABUSE.
