Many draft "experts" predict the junior would be not only a first-round pick if he opted for early entry in the NFL draft, but there would seem to be a very good chance he'd be the first corner taken as well.
In the last five years, the highest the first corner has been taken was at No. 6 in 2005; the lowest the first corner has been selected was No. 15 in 2006. So, obviously, there's good money in being the first CB taken, and it's something the Florida Gator seems to be seriously considering.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, Haden will file the paperwork in order to gain an evaluation of his draft stock from the NFL's Draft Advisory Board. Given Haden's talent level and the hype heaped on him from various "experts", this is far from an unexpected development.
In large part based on that evaluation by the advisory board, Haden will decide whether or not to forego his senior season in Gainesville.
All eligible underclassmen have until the middle of January to file for early entry into the 2010 draft.
Hayden is good but is he any better than Javier Arenas? I am sure Hayden will run a 4.3 and Arenas a 4.4 and I am sure Hayden will measure 5-11 and Arenas 5-9 but Arenas will be a 3rd or 4th rounder and Hayden will go in the top 2o. In fact, Alphonso Jackson might be a top corner if he opts to come out. I still think Arenas is the best of all of them. Oh yeah, no more Eric Berry for Heisman talk. Can you at least replace him with Rolando McClain like I have been saying for weeks you should?
Yes, he is much better than Arenas! Silly question, Bammer.
Never mind JT. Saw the other post including Rolando. Thanks. I can be relentless.
@MD2020,
Much better? Haden has 55 tackles and Arenas has 54. Haden has three INTs and Arenas has one. Oh yeah, Arenas has 4 sacks and 10.5 tackles for loss. Another oh yeah, Arenas did not play against South Carolina. So he has those stats in one less game. He also will be the SEC's all time leading punt returner in the next few weeks. Like I said, Haden will be drafted higher but Arenas is a better football player.
