More Leach-to-Louisville chatter

First there was a "well-placed source" telling FootballRumorMill.com that "Mike Leach and Louisville have a mutual interest in each other."

Then there was a Dennis Dodd entry on a CBS Sports.com blog mentioning the same rumor, but with somewhat of a denial from an unnamed Leach representative.

Now there's even more Leach talk, this time emanating from near the campus of the job in question.

According to the Louisville Courier-Journal, former Georgia coach Jim Donnan said during a radio appearance that Leach would be a natural fit for Louisville, but didn't want to get into any specifics of the Leach-to-Louisville rumors as Steve Kragthorpe is still, ya know, the Cardinals' head coach.

Here's more of Donnan not talking about Leach and Louisville -- wink wink -- as Kragthorpe slowly watches his UL ship slipping below the surface:

Donnan said the system that Leach runs is the same one Hal Mumme ran at Kentucky. He said he is very similar to Bobby Petrino with a tremendous belief in himself and a belief in his system. Doesn't worry about what people think about him.

Donnan said he always thought Louisville was a sleeping giant in the football world because of its facilities and its ties to the Big East.

To the best of our knowledge, Leach has not yet addressed the latest round of rumors attaching his name to another school.

If Leach goes to Louisville, he would get a BCS game just about every year. He would not have to worry about Texas, Oklahoma, or Oklahoma State.

This would be a good move for Leach. Why play Texas when you can play Syracuse.

You get a lot more satisfaction out of beating Texas.
