RichRod says log issue fixed

During an appearance on a Columbus, OH, radio station this morning, Michigan head coach Rich Rodriguez said that the football program has corrected the issue surrounding the mandatory practice logs that weren’t being kept.

An internal audit performed by the school, as first reported by the Detroit News, revealed that there were no mandated logs — officially referred to as Countable Athletically Related Activities — for 2008-2009 for the football program.  Seven other sports at the school, including the men’s basketball team, were found to be in compliance with the CARA mandates.

“The only thing, because the investigation is still under process, the NCAA won’t let us comment about it other than the fact that the practice-log process, that thing was corrected as soon as I learned of the issue,” Rodriguez said during the radio appearance. “As soon as this whole thing is over, I’ll be happy to discuss all the other details.”

What isn’t certain is when or how the CARA log issue was addressed.

Certainly, that will be something the NCAA will be very interested in as it continues to conduct its investigation into the hours Wolverine football players put into practice, workouts, etc.

Oh yeah, I’m sure he “fixed” the logs alright.

    This thing smells bad.
I don’t know about Michigan or any other specific school.
This is just about a hunch I have with regard to college football generally.
I bet there a lot of college football teams that hold “official” practices within the NCAA limits, and “unofficial” practices that are not logged, that go well beyond the NCAA limits.
College football is a job. The players should be paid.

but for the fact that our recent 10/15/2009 big disclosure win over the ncaa has now made it impossible for certain elements within the ncaa to operate behind the walls of secrecy that they have in the past, including the payoffs for no punishment network, certain elements within the ncaa would now be accepting payoffs from michigan boosters and this ncaa investigation, like that of petey’s crooked usc football program would be delayed so long that the public would forget that there ever was an investigation.
now, the age of coverups is order.
since the ncaa, in its current format has completey failed in its obligations to the public to enfore clear and sensible rules quickly and without prejudice, the ncaa, in its current format, simply will not be around next season and will be replaced with high tech honest systems fully transparent to, and accountable to, the public and every individual within the ncaa who has participated in the corruption will be relieved of their material possessions in the civil courts, in the same maner in which the con artists at the enron and mci worldcom scams were relieved of their material assets in the civil courts or by settlements.
right now, every individual currently and previously at the ncaa has to make the same decisions that people at enron and mci worldcom had the make.
either they can come foward with the truth and the documents, settle out of court, and still have economic and career futures or they can go down with everyone else in the civil courts.
some of our key evidence in the enron and mci worldcom civil rico cases came from people within enron and mci worldcom who had consciences and came foward with the truth and the evidence.
we will give everyone an opportunity to come foward and settle honorably.
however, the time window will not be open much longer. we will contact every individual involved in writing at their homes, including secretaries and techies, who always know a great deal and do not get any of the payoff and other funds.
