Urban the early betting favorite to replace Weis

In the months since he proclaimed -- twice -- that Notre Dame was his dream job, Urban Meyer has gone out of his way -- twice -- to declare that he will never, ever, ever, ever (slight exaggeration) go to Notre Dame. Ever.

Of course, Meyer’s denials have done little to slow the rumors of him heading to South Bend.

Nor has it stopped people who make their livelihoods wagering from installing the Florida head coach as the co-favorite to replace Charlie Weis at Notre Dame.

According to Bodog.com by way of Jimmy Shapiro of Sports Radio Interviews via email, here are the latest odds on who will be the Irish coach for Week One of the 2010 season:

Urban Meyer 3/2Brian Kelly 3/2Jim Harbaugh 3/1Chip Kelly 5/1Kirk Ferentz 10/1Bob Stoops 20/1Jon Gruden 30/1

I don’t know about you, but if I had an extra hundred laying around somewhere, that Gruden line would look awful enticing right now...
