Dungy not interested in Irish

Yesterday, the Chicago Sun-Times floated Tony Dungy's name as a possibility for the Notre Dame Dame if/when it became available.

Less than 24 hours later, the former Indianapolis Colts head coach shot down the trial balloon with authority.

"It has not crossed my mind at all," Dungy said according to the USA Today. "I would not be interested in a coaching job at any level."

While Dungy says he's done with coaching at this point in time, and he was named to head a new NFL player advisory forum, there is one opening that intrigues.

"I might be interested in pee-wee," he said. "I have a 9-year-old."

nor is notre dame interested in dungy or in anyone else.
charlie weis and his staff will be back at notre dame next season and for the forseeable future.
this talk about replacements for charlie and his staff is just media garbage, as has been confirmed by every single alleged candidate mentioned in the media.

your inside knowledge amazes me, robertg.

How cool would it be to be a 10 year old kid coached by Dungy?

When Notre Dame abandons its Catholic principles and invites a pro-abortion president, Barack Obama, to speak at their commencement exercises, they can expect bad things to befall this institution of higher learning.
Charlie Weis isn't the problem. The administration that allows such outrages needs to be removed and be replaced with men who care about the faith that the university alleges to profess.
On another note, during the era of "Ara", Coach Parsegian was asked what his proudest moment as a coach was? His answer, "100 percent of my players graduated". That is indeed an accomplishment and reflects why student-athletes are there in the first place.
May God once again bless Notre Dame, which is named after the mother of his only begotten Son, when it comes to its senses.

Karma is a bitch (presumably). So is stupidity Chuck.

Hey Chuck, I do not think that God cares whether or not Notre Dame has a winning record in football. How about being more concerned about Notre Dame's record of academic excellence. The football program has been overrated for most of it's modern day existence. And with people like you going around trying to invoke the school's losing woes on OUR President, you take things back to the stone age with your mindset. Regardless of who is president, it is still a woman's choice!

He lalaw9833, so “it's still a woman’s choice!” as you so vehemently put it. Well are you willing to commit completely to that statement and finish the sentence? Let me help you:

Do you believe it is still a woman’s choice to kill the baby growing in her womb?

Do you believe it is still a woman’s choice to be killed in her mother’s womb? After all some of those babies are female. I venture to say none of those children would choose to be killed. Take a look at those partial birth abortion diagrams when you get a chance, let me know if you believe the baby girl would seriously choose that.

Do you believe we have a right to LIFE, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?

Since premature babies can survive being born after week 22-26 at what point to you consider the child to be off limits to premeditated killing? I’m just curious.

Pro-Choice, give me a break. Have the guts to honestly debate and call it what it is, Pro-Abortion.

Choose Life! Those mothers who already chose abortion may have already killed the future greatest Irish football coach. By the way, I believe Charlie will be fired just because 6-5 just is not good enough with the talent on the Irish team. I love the 96% graduation rate (#1 in the country) and I love the recruits on the team and in the pipeline. But the home record is a disaster so if the Irish can land an NFL coach then it is time for a change.
