Earlier this week, the talk making the Internet rounds had Mike Leach and Louisville having “a mutual interest in each other” should Steve Kragthorpe be let go as the Cardinals’ head coach.
Yesterday, following Texas Tech’s huge 41-13 win over Oklahoma, Leach attempted to throw some water on whatever fire’s still burning in the rumor mill.
“I heard secondhand about that stuff, and I quit going crazy about it,” Leach said. “But I have no intentions but to stay here at Tech.”
Perhaps part of the reasoning behind the Leach-to-Louisville rumors were the contentious contract talks between the two sides this past offseason. Even given the tenor of those talks, Leach said Saturday that he “never really had any intention of going anywhere.”
And, apparently, he still doesn’t. At least to Louisville, that is.
