Charlie Weis hasn’t even been fired -- yet -- but the rumors are already beginning to fly as to where he will land if/when he’s canned by Notre Dame.
According to the South Bend Tribune, Weis’ name is being linked to the Kansas City Chiefs by way of Scott Pioli. Pioli worked in the New England Patriots’ front office while Weis served as offensive coordinator, so there is obviously a connection there.
Chiefs head coach Todd Haley fired his coordinator during the preseason, and currently serves as the Chiefs’ OC, which adds further fuel to the rumor.
Of course, we are still roughly a week away from the official end of the Weis Era in South Bend, so any movement to the Chiefs -- or anywhere else -- will have to wait.
