Injuries at the running back position has Arizona’s backfield situation somewhat dicey for this weekend’s rivalry game with Arizona State.
Leading rusher Nic Grigsby has already been ruled out of the game, head coach Mike Stoops said, with a sprained shoulder. The injury limited Grigsby’s carries in the loss to Arizona Oregon this past weekend.
As if that weren’t enough, Grigsby’s primary backup, Keola Antolin, is listed as questionable with a shoulder injury as well.
If Antolin is unable to go, Greg Nwoko and Nick Booth would share the rushing load according to the Arizona Republic.
I assume you mean it limited his carries in the loss to Oregon?
Grigsby has been hurt since the UCLA game.
Antolin runs between the tackles and is a small back so his injuries just pile up upon each other.
The Cats have been really down to their 3rd and 4th backs for the past 4 games.
Considering the Cats are missing an All American TE and these starters in the backfield it is amazing how close their Pac 10 losses have been.
What a season for what if’s for Arizona.
Lets beat ASU and SC.
