Chippewa sets NCAA receiving mark

Now who says we ignore MAC football?

During the first quarter of today's game against Northern Illinois, Central Michigan's Bryan Anderson hauled in a pass from quarterback Dan Lefevour to give the receiver a reception in 54 straight games.

That streak breaks a tie with Texas Tech's Taurean Henderson (2001-2005) and Miami of Ohio's Michael Larkin (2001-2004) and sets an NCAA all-division record for consecutive games with a reception.

Anderson entered the game second on the team in receptions (47), receiving yardage (611) and touchdowns (4).

As for the game, the Chippewas, who will represent the West division in the MAC championship game, are up 24-10 on the Huskies at the half.
