McKnight just needs 'one more year' in SoCal

On the verge of the first 1,000-yard season of his collegiate career, Southern Cal’s Joe McKnight is looking and talking like he’s heavily leaning toward returning to the Trojans for his senior season.

So much so, in fact, that McKnight said if he had to make a decision today or tomorrow, he would definitely be coming back.

The running back buffeted that comment with an even stronger stance as to what his football future may hold.

“It’s not the right time to drop everything and leave,” McKnight said according to the Orange County Register. “For what? I feel like I’m not ready for it. I just need one more year to get everything straight.”

McKnight, who leads USC with 932 yards and eight touchdowns, is the father of an infant son, which has led to a lot of speculation that this would be his final season in Los Angeles.

McKnight is actually thinking clearly. It must be a real temptation to go for the big bucks in the NFL but I think another year will bolster his position in the draft but give him the added maturity to be successful. Either way a great college career.

We’re all thinking it, so I’ll say it…
Of course he doesn’t want to turn pro. Most of us don’t like taking pay cuts.

good for him. regardless of any money he is or isnt getting right now, he’s gonna walk away with a degree from USC, another year of maturity, and another maybe be the guy who can be the main weapon for USC.
    good for him.
