According to athletic director Jack Swarbrick, neither he nor anyone through third-party back channels have spoken to any coach regarding what's widely expected to be a head-coaching opening for the Irish.
"Any version of anything you hear in the contact with a coach are absolutely false," Swarbrick said. "We haven't talked to anybody. We haven't authorized anybody to talk to anybody. It's simply not true.
"We'll engage in the evaluation in earnest following this game, then we'll go from there."
Although it wasn't noted in the report, we're assuming Swarbrick uttered all of those with a straight face.
john taylor and cft and pft,
we warned you jerks that eric hansen was a con artist media shill paid by notre dame's enemies to give out false information and that hansen had zero sources within notre dame.
now, you jerks are so desperate that you even have mike florio starting false rumours and illegally using the names and resources of msnbc and nbc sports to spread this garbage.
have you con artists considered brazil?
robertg,
I am going to laugh my ass off when Weis is fired within the week. All of the BS that you have been posting defending Notre Dame and Charlie Weis has just been hillarious to read. You think the JT and the whole CFT and PFT have done nothing but bash Notre Dame, but have you read any other site, their are all doing it. This is probably been the mildest site I have been to. Notre Dame gets national exposure so anytime their not doing good, their head coach is going to have to go through the scrutiny of the media, deal with it.
There's a crazy guy who sometimes posts on here who has been pounding the table telling everybody that the decision on Weis was made weeks ago. Certainly when ND ordered him not to go recruiting on the West Coast after the Stanford game, it did seem to verify that the decision was already made, and that Weis was gone whether the team won or lost.
Tonight's many coaching errors and lack of proper adjustment both on offense and defense will certainly spell doom, and we'll never know for sure when the decision was actually made. Whatever the case, the way the team and coaching staff folded in the fourth quarter definitely sealed the fate of Mr. Weis.
They are so full of it...they most certainly have been talking. Kelley practically spilled the beans a few days ago.
