Duck DT arrested for assault

As it turns out, Florida isn’t the only football program hit with an arrest ahead of a huge conference showdown. Although, to be fair and perfectly blunt, this arrest won’t have nearly the effect that Carlos Dunlap‘s could/should have on the Florida-Alabama match-up.

According to the Eugene Register-Guard, junior defensive tackle Terrance Montgomery was arrested and jailed on an assault charge Monday.

As of this afternoon, Montgomery was still jailed. Specifics of what led to Montgomery’s arrest are not yet available.

Head coach Chip Kelly told the paper that he was aware of the arrest, but would have no comment until he had gathered additional facts.

Montgomery has played in seven games this season; there’s a very good chance that he won’t make it an even eight when the Ducks take on Oregon State Thursday in a Civil War clash that will decide the Pac-10’s representative to the Rose Bowl.
