Buffalo head coach Turner Gill was one of the first names the rumor mill churned out when the future of Mark Mangino was placed in doubt last month.
Upon Mangino’s resignation earlier this week, Gill’s name once again was at or near the top of the list of potential replacements.
Now, the former Nebraska quarterback and assistant is moving a step closer to returning to his playing and coaching roots.
According to Tony Barnhart on CBS’ pregame show, Gill will interview with athletic director Lew Perkins for the Kansas job tomorrow.
Gill would be the first known candidate to interview for the position.
