Urban hospitalized following loss

Not only did Florida suffer a Georgia Dome spanking at the hands of Alabama in the SEC title game, but their coach suffered a medical issue in the aftermath of the loss as well.

According to ESPN.com, Gators head coach Urban Meyer admitted himself to a Gainesville hospital in the hours after the championship game.  The coach was treated for dehydration, although it’s unclear if he’s been released from the hospital at this hour.

UF spokesman Steve McClain told the website that Meyer “is doing well now.”

It’s uncertain why Tim Tebow wasn’t available to lay his hands on Meyer and avert a trip to the hospital altogether.

(C’mon, we kid.  Lighten up.)

    I’m sorry, I’m not trying to be a total dick here but my god Urban, pull your freakin self together… its called losing, get use to it because it does happen sometimes. Now that your little bromance partner Tebow is gone, you’ll have to start dealing with all of the SEC teams looking for payback at all the arrogant stunts you’ve pulled over the last 4 years of so. Karma does tend to come back in a very very big way! Its going to be fun watching you choke on some humble pie in the next few years

    Tebow was working on the Health Care bill and was in Washington D.C. by that time.

    John,
    It is not to us mortals to question His decisions. Things happen for a reason. All that we can ask for is the wisdom and clarity to learn from our experiences.

    Oh, John, you made my day!!!! I very nearly got myself tossed out of Mama’s house over that boy! What is it with older women and Tim Tebow?? She couldn’t stand him all year, but he sheds a few tears on the sidelines last night and suddenly it’s “Bless his heart!”
    If any girls are reading, it is not a good idea to show up at Mama’s for Sunday dinner after church and respond to her sudden Tebow pity by announcing “Obviously I’m not as impressed with virginal St. Timmy and his sideline sobbing as you are.” Nope, not a good idea at all :-)
    As for Urban … some things are best left unsaid.

    It looks like he maybe coming to South Bend after that loss to Bama last night.

    Taylor, you’re an @$$hole. Do your homework. Read last week’s Sports Illustrated article on Meyer you freakin’ moron. For years he’s had a “mass” in his brain that causes severe headaches from stress. Want to keep making fun of him now, you idiot?

    AZ Buckeye – I guess you are Superman? Give Urban a break for winnning championships with great style and still finishing in the top 5.
    I’m a Big 12 guy but both Alabama and Florida have had a ‘hell of a year’. I would think any idiot can see the stress both coaches and players feel thoughout the season and especially at the end of the long season. And… we at the tailgate parties and in our big screen media rooms get a tremendous show. Thanks to all the players, coaches and broadcasters who make it a ‘free ride’ for us.
    As for Taylor and the ‘slap at Tebow’ relative to faith and healing the coach, get real – even if you are kidding around; and no I am not a born again Christian – just an American and Christian who believes faith and trust in God is what our country has been built upon.

    Let the excuse making from the Florida fans commence.
    “Why, Alabama wouldn’t have beaten us if it hadn’t been for this! This explains it all.”
    Sound familiar?
    “We weren’t exposed by Tennessee; we just had the flu.”

    Hey everyone,
    It’s a football game. Mr. Meyer does it for a living, a very good living, for people who like to win very much. He has a tough job. For the rest of us, calm down. It’s a game played by kids allegedly there to grow up and perhaps get an education.

  12. Wrathchild says: Dec 6, 2009 11:04 PM

    Meyer lost a lot of fluid after he finished crying on the sidelines with Tebow…

    @Florida727 …
    If Urban has a brain mass that makes it life-threatening or debilitating for him to coach football, he should consider another line of work. But since he’s obviously decided the multi-million dollar compensation and fan adulation is worth it, maybe his condition isn’t as serious as you seem to think. At any rate, I’ve been hospitalized for dehydration, and it has nothing to do with headaches or brain masses. It’s about fluid loss.
    @Lorenzo C …
    I’m also an American and a Christian, though I’m not clear what either has to do with CFT. Our nation was founded on the principles of democracy and freedom. Thankfully, we are free to worship as we choose. And John is free to make jokes as he chooses.
